While sitting in my US History class today, a friend of mine showed me a post on Facebook about my classmate Bryson, who was supposed to be sitting a few tables away from me during that same period. My heart dropped when I found out that he had passed away. I had gotten to know Bryson during my freshman and sophomore year since we had homeroom together almost everyday. He was actually my first friend in Mr. Ai's homeroom. He had the kindest spirit and although he had a shy personality, you knew he always had good intentions no matter what he did. Something I will always remember about Bryson is that he loved to sing. Whenever I passed by him in the halls, I could always hear him humming under his breath. Or even in class when I would sing to myself, he would always freely join along. It's crazy that you can see someone one day, smiling, living their life, and the next day they're gone forever. It could happen to any of us. I think what I learned from all of this is that you should never leave anything unsaid. Tell the people you love that you love them, get rid of the grudges you've been holding onto for so long, say what you need to say before it's too late. You never know when it could be someone's last day on Earth. If you're reading this, I ask that you please pray for strength and mercy upon his family. I can't even imagine what they're going through right now.

Bryson, I know you are living it up in Heaven right now. I'll see you soon buddy, thank you for changing my life for the better. Rest in peace.

  1. Mia, you honor his life with your kind thoughts, and his gift to you are those life lessons you mention...the ones we take for granted all to often. Love you.....
