Life is all about making mistakes, but whats important is how you overcome them in order to prevent making the same mistake again. Today was way too rough. In this time of need, all there is left to do is to look forward to a better day tomorrow. I am trusting in Him and what He has planned for our lives. Praying for strength and grace.

Thankful

So lucky and blessed to have had my brother down for thanksgiving this year. It's his first time coming home for thanksgiving since going off to college. I know this post is a tad late but I mean its never too late to say what you're thankful for. This year has gone by sooo incredibly fast and in less than a month it will be 2014, I can't even believe it. I am thankful for the trials and tribulations i've faced this year, for the lessons learned, and the people i've met. I am thankful for good health. I am thankful for my friends who bring so much happiness and joy into my life, my teammates who share the same passion as me, my teachers and coaches, but most importantly, my family. Without them, I would not be as close to the person I strive to be. I am blessed with their constant love and support.

I'm so so excited for the Christmas season and for what's to come this winter break!

Celebration

So much love for my parents whose anniversary was yesterday, November 18th. It's been 23 years together and I still see the passion and love they have for each other. I hope to one day have a love like theirs. I couldn't have asked for better parents. Also, happy 50th birthday to my crazy mother, whose birthday is today, the 19th of November! I don't think anyone truly understands how similar we are. Our looks, the way we laugh, our humor. Joy still looks 30 and acts like she's in her 20s. She has the wildest spirit and literally brings "joy" into peoples lives. She has the brightest smile and personality and I love her oh so much. Heres to two days of love and celebration. XOXO

Weekend Up North

Such a lovely 3-day weekend out on the north shore. The weather wasn't the best but it nice to be with the girls again. Such pozzy vibes in our little cottage by sea. Blessed with bliss!

Worlds biggest surf mural

One of my friends on facebook posted this link...

on her page so I decided to check it out. Such a cool mural, it looked so real!

Happy Birthday Mei

You have been in my life since the first day of 4th grade when we sat together in Ms. Leong's class room 21! I remember we had this instant connection and became friends as soon as we started talking. We even told our parents to meet each other at the 4th grade open house because we wanted to have sleepovers during weekends. Now our mom's are practically best friends and you live up the street from me. Holy, how time flies. We've had our rough patches but to say I have been your friend for over 7 years is truly a blessing and I am so thankful that God put someone like you in my life. You are the closest thing I have to a sister and i've never been so close to anyone ever. We even spend holidays and family dinners together, that's how close we are. Your future is looking so bright, and I can honestly say that I look up to you, someone who is so intelligent and independent with the kindest heart. I know that no matter where life takes us, nothing will tear our friendship apart. Happy 16th birthday. I love you Mei! Even though you got a brand new car for your bday.....

Life is all about moments and I will never forget this one. I can't even begin to explain how I feel right now. I am so blessed and fortunate to have had the opportunity to play with the greatest teammates who have such huge hearts and a strong passion for the game. Losing states last year was pretty hard on us and we knew what we had to do this year in order to reach our goal. These past 3 months have been nothing but blood, sweat, and tears.. literally. But also so many memories that I will never forget. I'm going to miss the seniors so much next year, I don't even know what its going to be like without them. They have such huge futures ahead of them and I am lucky to have gotten the opportunity to play with them. From the first day we made our team, to the pre-season tournament, to serve-a-thon, to our vegas trip to play in the Durango tournament, to senior night, to states in Hilo this year, it has been one of the greatest seasons I have ever been apart of. Bringing the state title back to the hill! Proud to be a warrior!

...Now onto club season!

Pink Ladies

The team supporting breast cancer awareness month with pink warmup shirts and volleyballs. I wear it in honor of my beautiful Aunty Ulu who just started chemo treatment last week. Please keep her in your prayers as well as the many people who are suffering from breast cancer.. Prayer is very powerful!

1

Today I decided to start this blog. So here I am at 9:04 PM on a Sunday night writing my first post ever. It's always weird starting off a blog because you never really know where to start. But hello world, my name is Mia, a fun-lovin' 16 year old from Hawaii. This is a collection of my thoughts, feelings, and experiences, "through my eyes." If anyone decides to actually read my blog i apologize for misuse of words or poor grammar. Im just doing me, meaning that what I say probably wont make sense all the time. Anywho, I hope to entertain you with the beautiful life I live with the incredible people in it. Here's to new beginnings.
